



Aerosport began on the Magdalen Islands in 1998. Its first mission was to make known the different wind related sports with the use of kites.
Since then, Aerosport has taught thousands of people to kitesurf, snowkite, and buggy in addition to helping clients discover sea kayaking and SUP. Aerosport has received numerous awards over the years including the most prestigious, the “Gold National Winner « Grands Prix du Tourisme Québécois. » Since its inception, the company has opened more schools and retail outlets for education and sale of specialized equipment (Kite / kayak / SUP). Pushed by the famous islands winds, Aerosport is now developing a whole new market in the Oka region with the establishment of a new retail shop and a training school.
DISTINCTIONS
In the late 90s, Eric Marchand realizes his dream and created the first kitesurfing school in Canada, the Iles de la Madeleine, named Aerosport. Since then, his professionalism, passion, dynamism and talent led him to be recognized internationally in the field of outdoor sport through his various implications as an athlete. Eric was Canadian champion snowboarding (halfpipe) for two consecutive years and has traveled the world to compete. He was also world champion in kite skiing. He has provided training and kite demonstrations around the world, from the Baffin Islands, to Senegal, and through Europe. Éric Marchand is also a professional photographer. Many of his achievements are illustrated many journals of sports and tourism and advertising catalogues.
His goal is to continue to introduce to as many people as possible the sport he sees as ecological and promising a sustainable future.
A family story
Passionate at sailing since childhood, Tania, joined Eric and his three children, Mahikan, Shani and Galahad, as part of the Aerosport adventure since its inception. Tania serves as director and an administrative assistant, Mahikan, the elder, teaches kiting in addition to his overall involvement in the company, while Shani and Galahad help with different tasks within Aerosport. In 2005, the family set sail and spent several months aboard his sailboat “Ozone” to navigate the Bahamas seas in search of the most beautiful kiting areas and a simple free lifestyle. An experience they repeated over several years. Our new family recruit, Libellia, born in 2013, was also quick to taste life at sea and also has the wind in her sails!
